On 27 May 2015 , the  expert witness hearing in the Criminal Trial for the 2009 Railway Disaster in Viareggio (Tuscany) was supported with 6 videos presented to the Court. The SEA was applied to this criminal case for reconcting the accidental events occurred in the Viareggio’s Railway Station on 29 June 2009.

In Viareggio, Italy June 29, 2009 it was a quiet summer evening until a train derailed and a tanker carrying liquid petroleum gas (LPG) was ripped open creating a fire of huge proportions.  Thirty-two people died. None of the victims were on the train, they were at home or walking along the street. The accident remains the worst disaster in the history of the Italian railway system in a time of peace.
